Commercialisation Process
JKTech’s customized commercialisation process provides assistance and support throughout the entire commercialisation pathway.
Intellectual property is of little value unless it is protected, developed and used. Commercialisation can be defined as the process of managing the transfer of research outcomes to broad market application and creates wealth and other benefits for researchers and institutions alike, as well as delivering new products and processes to the industry and community.
JKTech assists researchers from The University of Queensland and other research institutions around the world to develop and commercialise intellectual property contained within research outcomes. Commercialisation of research through JKTech includes the following services:
- Due diligence by independent validation of the research outcomes (does it do what it’s meant to do?)
- Market assessment (does anybody want it?)
- Decision on commercialisation pathway (how is it going to be transferred to industry?)
- Development of agreements, both internal and external documentation
- Patent management post commercialisation
- Calculation and management of royalty distribution
- Feedback to inventors regarding commercialisation process and proceeds
Key Benefits:
- Continued research and development projects
- Working with researchers, not just handover of technology
- Funding for further R&D within research institutes
