JKTech has developed a series of short course modules designed for engineers, technicians, operators, support staff and others working in the mineral processing industry but who do not have formal mineral processing qualifications.
All modules begin by reviewing fundamental principles, conventions and terminology, and then address current technical and operating issues and circuit design considerations.
Courses can be run as a series of weekly sessions or in blocks.
These modules cover the following topic areas:
| Module |
Topics |
| Introduction to Metallurgical Processing |
. Terminology . Metals and minerals . Data handling conventions . Sizing data, P80 . Solids, moisture, %sol . Density, slurry density, bulk density, SG . Process overview . Comminution and separation processes . Solid/liquid separation . Concentrate/materials handling |
| Crushing, Grinding and Classification |
. Crushing and grinding machines . Liberation . Breakage energy, ore characterisation . Classification . Comminution circuits, circulating loads, flowsheets; process flowsheet, schematics and conventions |
| Physical Separation, Mineral Sands |
. Separation fundamentals . Grade and recovery . Wet and dry processing . Types of separator . Electrostatic and magnetic separation . Mineral Sands circuit layouts . Gravity/density driven separation . Partition curves |
| Flotation |
