SMI Knowledge Transfer is a unique professional development initiative, offering life-of-mine training courses and workshops to the global mining and minerals processing industry.

The SMI Knowledge Transfer unit combines the JKTech Training courses with the professional development activities and workshops of ACMER (the Australian Centre for Minerals Extension and Research) and the other Centres of SMI (Sustainable Minerals Institute) at the University of Queensland.   As a result, SMI Knowledge Transfer has the capability to deliver an expanded range of professional development activities, training courses and workshops in a variety of locations, including onsite, within Australia and around the world.

The SMI Knowledge Transfer group, managed by Ron McLean, is comprised of ACMER staff who have joined the JKTech team to continue to build on the already strong reputation for the delivery of practical knowledge transfer to the global minerals industry.

Presenters
All courses are presented by specialists from JKTech, JKMRC, SMI or by recognised industry specialists.  Each presenter has an in-depth understanding of the subject and has theoretical understanding as well as having applied the technology through extensive field work.

Locations
Courses are scheduled in locations around the world each year, including Brisbane and Perth in Australia, South Africa, North and South America.  In addition to the scheduled courses, special programs can be run at any location at a time suitable to the client.  Please contact us if you would like a quotation for an in-house course at your office or site.  

Registration
Applicants for courses should register using the online form, preferably at least one month prior.  We prefer payment at time of registration.  Cancellation of attendance more than 2 weeks prior to the course commencement will result in a full refund.  Cancellation of attendance less than 2 weeks prior to the course will result in a refund of 75% of the registration fee.
