The flotation process, invented over 100 years ago in Australia, is the major separation step in most mineral processing and coal preparation operations throughout the world. Although widely used, the technology of flotation is difficult and many mining operations operate below the optimum economic efficiency.
JKTech has developed a flotation process evaluation and optimisation methodology to address this probem; which involves a sophisticated software package, JKSimFloat and new specialist equipment.
This flotation optimisation methodology is a knowledge-based innovation making best use of mathematical models developed at the JKMRC, University of Cape Town and McGill University together with flotation measurement techniques and process expertise.
