Bill started his career with CSR and after several years in Sydney , spent 9 years in the Hunter Valley at the Lemington Coal Mine as Company Secretary and Commercial Manager. He then moved back to Brisbane as Financial Controller of Capricorn Coal.

Bill changed briefly to the retail trade as Company Secretary of the Kinney Shoes group, then spent 6 years in the liquid waste industry as Company Secretary and CFO of Transpacific Industries, followed by 4 years in marine transport as Company Secretary and CFO of the Riverside Marine group.

He currently works through his own company, Wilant Management, as a Governance professional and Company Secretary, and is presently Company Secretary of listed computer and telecommunications retailer, Vita Group Limited, and of three private companies in the gas pipeline industry.
